Today's 5000 meter running event ended dramatically.
In a major show of force, dozens of Addis Ababa police officers in riot gear arrested the Blue Party Women Groups who were shouting that political prisoners must be released. These young women were demanding for the release of journalists and political prisoners.
The women were shouting “Release Reeyot Alemu!!” .. “Release the Journalists!!”… “Release all political prisoners!!”The police arrested dozens of these women who all are members of the Blue Party. Some of these are members of the Executive Committee of the Blue Party. The names of the arrestee and their condition will be announced on the internet media and on the international news channels in short time.
